The very first official event facing the selected guests by Crypto Valley Malaysia was held in ALoft Hotel, KL Sentral on 20th June 2018. It was a private session with invited guests only. It was a full house event and we would like to take the opportunity here to thank all the people who had made this happen.
We had the CEO of CVM delivered his welcoming speech and followed by a soft launch of CVM in Malaysia.
Then, our VIP guest, Mr. Saleem from Trescon Global delivered his speech about the global blockchain ecosystem.
Our second keynote speaker, Mr. Rennie from Singapore shared his insights on Singapore’s blockchain ecosystem as a whole.
This was followed by a panel session with Mr. Taka from Japan and Mr. Shakur from Canada.
Welcoming speech from CEO of Crypto Valley Malaysia
Assalamulaikum and good evening. Greetings to our special guests, Mr Saleem, CEO of Trescon
Global, Mr Rennie Sng, Principal Advisor of W12, Me Effendy Zulkefly co founder of Crypto Valley
Malaysia, Mr Koh How Tze, co founder of Crypto Valley Malaysia, Mr Ooi Chief Financial Officer of
Crypto Valley Malaysia, Mr Irfan Chief R&D Officer of Crypto Valley Malaysia, distinguish guests,
ladies and gentlemen. It’s not too late for me to wish Selamat Hard Raya Aidilfitri to the Muslims
since we are still in the month of Syawal. Today is a very special day for us in Crypto Valley
Malaysia and this is our very first by invitation forum, with the agenda to soft launch Crypto Valley
Malaysia. CVM is a tech foundation that will facilitate and combine best of both worlds between
business and technology communities. The main agenda is to facilitate and solve real business
problems arise within the industries. It would be an honour for us to have our distinguish VIP
guest, Mr Saleem, CEO of Trescon Global to officiate and launch the Crypto Valley Malaysia. This
will happen after my welcoming speech and before his keynote.
Crypto Valley Malaysia or CVM is a vision created by five Malaysia technopreneurs that will
leapfrog this country into world class technology frontier. I would appreciate if the 5 gentlemen to
stand up and present themselves. They are the backbone of enablement and creation of Crypto
Valley Malaysia. Please give them a round of applause. Thank you.
We are talking about the advance hybrid exponential technologies like Blockchain, Big Data
Analytics, IoT, Machine Learning, Cryptography, FinTech, Singularity and Exponential technology
that are becoming core enabler for country like Malaysia to be at the frontier enabling economy,
businesses, healthcare, industry revolution 4.0, agriculture, renewable energy, telecommunication
and much more. We believe a tech foundation like CVM will attract and facilitate more tech
communities, business communities, government, industries to experience the advance of hybrid
exponential technology such as blockchain and how it can solve a lot of real business problems
that potentially can improvise the country’s economic condition, create more fascinating job
opportunities, eliminate urban poor, improve the education quality and much more. The whole idea
of CVM is to facilitate both business and technology world to solve real problem for the benefit of
the people. As an example, a collaboration that we re currently doing with Blockchain Research
Center Malaysia (BCRC) and ACO Platform Foundation, we are in a mission to keep the famous
ICO industry healthy by revolutionizing it through our accreditation processes. The ACO platform is
one sample use case of Blockchain technology being applied and enabling fundraising targeting
the start ups. This will accelerate startup economy for Malaysia and it will be a new income for the
country.
Ladies and gentlemen, this will be an exciting year for Crypto Valley Malaysia. One of the main
target is to chart Malaysia as a country that embrace blockchain globally. With the help from
Trescon Global, we hope to mark Malaysia with a green dot on the global map too. In Malaysia we
call this spirit as Malaysia Boleh, or Malaysia Can!
I am happy to report that this year CVM will focus on facilitating 3 main verticals namely
telecommunication, automotive and government agencies. Today we have our representatives
from these 3 verticals. They are Acasia Communication Sdn Bhd, a group of company within
Telekom Malaysia, Malaysia Automotive Istitute (MAI) and Department of Statistics Malaysia.
Please give a round of applause to the representatives from the stated verticals.
This year, CVM will also open up its premium membership to corporates and ministries as part of
the consortium supporting CVM initiative for Malaysia. We will have a full calendar of event,
sharing best practices of technology adoption, business use cases, round table discussion and
much more. Educating the community is key and CVM envision to be the one stop platform to
achieve this agenda. The end in mind is to bring as much as Malaysian group to the upcoming
World Blockchain Summit in November this year.
CVM too will work closely with ministries and agencies to strengthen the regulatory matters that
involve new technology such as Blockchain in this country. We will be the center of excellence that
can be the main reference for any corporate enterprises as fas as hybrid exponential technology is
concern. We will be the center of excellence to help build technologies for these industries.
